Flags
The following flags are flown on the property, starting mid-August 2025. Each flag is up
for a week, unless there's a conflict with another flag.
American Flags
4'x6', top position.
Typically the current U.S. flag is flown, with these exceptions:
- Betsy Ross Flag
- Flown on the 3rd Monday in April for Patriots' Day.
- Hopkinson Flag
- Flown on June 14 for Flag Day. Detailed here.
- Bennington Flag
- Flown on August 16, as detailed here.
The American flag is flown at half-staff on the following dates:
And on other days specified by the United States President or New Hampshire Governor, most recently including:
- November 5-?, 2025, Governor Ayotte Directs Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Former Vice President Cheney

- September 10-14, 2025, Honoring the Memory of Charlie Kirk, Governor Ayotte Directs Flags to Half-Staff in Memory of Charlie Kirk.
- August 27-31, 2025, Honoring the Victims of the Tragedy in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- August 28, 2025, in memory of Northwood (NH) Fire Department Captain Christopher Brown.
Secondary Flags
3'x5', lower position.
When flying the American flag at half-staff, there isn't room for a lower flag, so the scheduled lower flag may not always be flown.
- Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Flag
- Flown February 9 and July 12 in honor of my late wife's birth and death, and during November for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
- Guilford Courthouse Flag
- Flown March 15 as detailed here.
- Pine Tree Flag
- Flown April 14 for George Washington's schooners and the Pine Tree Riot in Weare as detailed here.
- Bunker Hill Flag
- Flown June 17 for the battle of Bunker Hill. Note this is the red field version as detailed here.
- New Hampshire State Flag
- Flown June 21, when New Hampshire was admitted to the Union.
- Moultrie Flag
- Flown June 28 as detailed here.
- Dunbarton Town Seal Flag
- Flown August 10 for the town charter.
- Sons of Liberty Flag
- Flown August 14 as detailed here.
- Brandywine Flag
- Flown September 3 as detailed here, and because the U.S. flag must fly at half-staff on 9/11, and the flagpole does not hold two flags at half-staff.
- Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Flag
